with La Petite Mer in the Ardèche

La Petite Mer offers rope-free canyoning, also known as ‘aqua hiking’. Suitable for everyone aged 7 and over.

Move with the current, swim, walk, slide, jump… Supervised by a state-certified guide, enjoy this activity in complete safety.

The bonus: an introduction to and appreciation of the local flora and fauna, heritage and the beauty of these places, whilst respecting this beautiful environment. You’ll leave with a wealth of memories of the Ardèche Gorges.

We offer this activity as either a half-day or full-day trip.

Bas Chassezac Canyon

Come and discover the joys of canyoning in this beautiful canyon nestled in the Cévennes, on the border between Ardèche and Lozère.

In a little corner of paradise, accessible to all, you’ll navigate a series of natural slides carved into the bedrock, take jumps (up to 7 m), and swim in crystal-clear water… No obstacle is compulsory; everything can be avoided.

Ideal for a great time with family or friends: hen parties or stag do’s.

Suitable from 7 years old but suitable for all ages, as the activity can be adapted to suit groups.

9.00 am to 12.30 pm or 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm

Full day

€60 per child and €70 per adult

10 am to 4 pm

Beginner level, ages 7 and over

Duration: 3 hours

Walk there: 40 mins; walk back: 5 mins

Essential: You must be able to swim and not be afraid to put your head under water

Please note: You must not have any medical conditions that would prevent you from taking part (heart problems, back problems, severe asthma or other medical conditions).

We provide:

Supervision by a state-certified professional instructor, PPE-compliant equipment, 5 mm neoprene wetsuits, helmets, canyoning shoes, protective shorts, a carry bag and waterproof containers, and the instructor’s professional liability insurance

You’ll need to bring:

Swimwear, a bottle of water, a glasses cord, energy bars, your car (transport available on request), food, water.
