At La Petite Mer, we set off from Sampzon https://www.sampzon.fr/ a few kilometres upstream from Vallon Pont d’Arc. This route offers five slides known as ‘toboggans’.
The fun route
The route with the toboggan slides in canoes on the Ardèche is called the fun route, and it is enjoyed by young and old alike.
Toboggans then 5 flat sections before arriving at the ‘unmissable Pont d’Arc’ section. See our routes.
To finish, there are a few rapids and the passage under the legendary Pont d’Arc. The Pont d’Arc
In total, it’s about a dozen kilometres for 3 hours of paddling, not including breaks.
We offer departures at either 10 a.m. or 1 p.m., giving you plenty of time to enjoy the river and the boats.
The first part is peaceful and fun with 5 slides, giving way to a more challenging second half with several rapids, including the famous Charlemagne, and the passage under the majestic Pont d’Arc.
Here’s something to make you want to try this route, which is accessible to everyone, and spend a wonderful day on our beautiful river. Here is a link to one of our videos showing you this descent. Ardèche canoe slides
