It’s been a very wet month of February 2026…

Heavy rainfall has left little time to make progress on the construction sites at La Petite Mer.

But here’s a major project that will be completed this February.

Felling of poplar trees

For those who are familiar with our base, it is well wooded, mainly with acacia trees but also walnut, oak, catalpa and other varied species. A beautiful poplar hedge also stood in the centre of the land. This land, which was originally intended to be a campsite, is marked out by alcoves of sorts, with the poplar hedge in the centre.

However, for several years now, these poplars have been posing a danger. They are suffering the effects of time, intense heat, strong winds… The mistral wind sometimes blows strongly in this part of the valley.

Louis from la taille de l’arbre has maintained these beautiful trees, some of which are diseased and fragile, for several years. This year, it was decided to cut them down and allow natural species to grow.

Before a tragedy or accident occurred, we decided to cut down this hedge and these 30-metre-high trees.

So we contacted la forestière who will know how to make the most of these trees once they have been felled.

This February is therefore mainly taken up with restoring our land after the passage of several large machines and the removal of trees.
